About

Crooked Tree is a dream come true.

In 2006, Alix and Ken bought the 10-acre property where Crooked Tree now stands with no idea what they would do with it. A guest-house idea took seed and organically evolved into what is today.

Designing, building, and everything else that brought Crooked Tree to life was a lot of hard work but well worth it. Countless happy guests will attest to this!

Come to see the story for yourself . . .

NOTE: We received great news – the new BC Legislation regarding Vacation Rentals does not apply to us. It will be business as usual this year!

  • Balance of Payment - due at the time of your stay.

Cancellations

  • Parties cancelling prior to four weeks in advance of the arrival date for high season (summer - July & August) or two weeks in advance of the arrival date for mid and low season (spring and fall - September through June) will be refunded their 50% deposit, less a 5% admin fee.

Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-in time is 4:00pm or anytime later
  • Check-out time is 10:30am or anytime earlier

Children

  • Although our children are grown, we are parents so we know from our own traveling experiences how difficult it can be to find a nice place to stay that allows children. At Crooked Tree we do not discriminate! We only ask that you please be very mindful of other guests' privacy and desire for peace and quiet.
  • There is no charge for children under 2 years of age; for those 2 to 11 years of age the nightly rate is $20; and those 12 and older are regarded as extra adults and a $40/night charge applies.

Pets

  • Well behaved ones are welcome! We love our animals and have traveled with our dogs so we get that guests often want their furry family members to come along.
  • Pet owners are asked to PLEASE respect the right to bring pets to stay at Crooked Tree by:
  • cleaning up after them outside (we have poo bags if you are in need) anywhere on our property or in our neighbourhood
  • absolutely NOT letting them up on any furniture/beds
  • keeping noise levels to a minimum
  • NOT having them off leash and running about on their own on the property
  • A maximum of two pets per suite are allowed.
  • We charge a nominal pet fee - $20 per night per pet, plus taxes
  • We reserve the right to charge an extra pet cleaning fee if your suite is left in a condition warranting same. Most of our 'pet guests' are great but, sigh, unfortunately a few are not and HUGE pet clean-ups (hair everywhere!) are required. It is already a very big job to get our large suites ready for their next occupants so we do not need an additional burden.

Smoking

Smoking is only permitted outside on the grounds and away from decks so as not to bother other guests. Butts must not be discarded on the ground (you'll find an ashtray in the cutlery drawer).
